Hey dolls! Today I have photos for you of three polishes from the KBShimmer Summer 2013 collection. KBShimmer is one of my favorite indie brands, so it’s always a pleasure to review her polishes. This collection consists of neon mattes and glitter filled jellies.
Totally Tubular is an aqua jelly that is filled with fuschia and blue glitter in various shapes and sizes. This is the one I was most excited about when I saw the press release. The formula was much more pigmented than I thought it would be and was easy to use. Totally Tubular dried to a satin finish, so KBShimmer Clearly on Top was used. Two coats are shown below.
What’s Your Damage? is a white creme-jelly hybrid base that is filled with neon pink and green glitter and larger black hex glitter and shards. This is one that I was interested in seeing from the press release, but I’m not crazy about in person. It may be the stark contrast between the black and white, but I’m sure others will like it. What’s Your Damage? definitely has an 80s vibe going on. The formula was a little thick, but very manageable. Based on KBShimmer’s recommendation I layered two coats of What’s Your Damage? over Essie Marshmallow.
Don’t Pink Twice is an eye searing matte neon pink that has blue glass flecks. The formula was great as the polish was nicely pigmented and flowed easily onto the nail. Depending on the light, the blue flecks are more apparent. Two coats were used for opacity.
Overall, I think KBShimmer has produced a very fun summer collection. I love that she included some mattes in addition to the glitter filled jellies we are accustomed to from her brand. The other polish I have my eye on from this collection is The Dancing Green. KBShimmer polishes can be purchased here for $8.75 each. Be sure to keep up with her on facebook and instagram!
