KBShimmer Spring 2014

Hey dolls! This evening I have photos for you of half of the 16 polishes in the KBShimmer Spring 2014 collection. This collection features a variety of finishes including glitters, jellies, crellies, holos, and the brand’s first foray into cremes. When asked about the collection’s inspiration, brand creator Christy Rose stated, “Spring is such a fun time, with flowers in bloom, warmer weather, and Easter. Though the snow is still around for many, we were inspired this spring by the thoughts of warmer weather, and the many different flowers that come with it. Easter also played a part, with us borrowing many of the tones and colors you find in Easter candy.” The descriptions from the press release will be used to describe each shade.

KBShimmer Chick Me Out – This bright yellow cream is the ideal shade to welcome warmer weather. Yellow is my favorite color and this one did not disappoint. The formula was thick, but in a good way. It was easy to manage and applied very nicely. Three coats were used below, but I could’ve gotten away with two if I used thicker layers.

KBShimmer Life Rose On – This vivid cerise polish has blue undertones, making it wearable for many skin tones. Life Rose On is a gorgeous pink with a perfect formula. It was thick, well-pigmented, and opaque in one coat.

KBShimmer Rush Flower Traffic – A metallic glitter top coat with fuchsia, gold, green, sapphire, and aqua glitters in hex and dot glitters fill this polish. This is a very versatile and dense glitter that could be used over a variety of bases. It applied easily and had a good formula. One coat was used over Life Rose On.

KBShimmer Quick and Flirty – Every girl needs a good violet colored polish in their collection, and what better than one that comes with a rainbow! This linear holographic offers full coverage in 2 coats, add a third for a deep lilac color. This polish is super holo-y! Almost a bit much for my tastes, but the shade of purple is so pretty, I had to wear this for a day. The formula was great and applied easily in two coats.

KBShimmer Daisy About You – A pale green crelly, this spring polish features neon green hex glitters swimming among purple and lavender hexes and a scattering of lavender daisy glitters. The formula was sheer, but easy to use and was opaque in three coats. The glitter dispersed nicely and I just happened to get two of the larger daisy glitters out on the third coat. Top coat was needed to smooth the glitters out.

KBShimmer Full Bloom Ahead – This white based polish is loaded with small, medium and large hex glitters in fuchsia, navy, teal, gold and orange; colors reminiscent of those floral tones that signal spring is near. The formula was good and built up nicely in three coats. The glitter was dense, but did dry to a slightly gritty finish, so top coat was used.

KBShimmer Belle of the Mall – This coral toned pink polish is a fun color to brighten your day. This jelly like polish is loaded with holographic silver hexes in various sizes and is stunner in the sun. I adore this polish and the name! The formula was great and applied evenly in three coats. It has just the right amount of glitter!

KBShimmer Laugh Myself Lily – A muted jade crelly with holographic hexes in gold, pink, sliver, lavender and blue. Pink and light aqua dots complete this muted polish. This is one of my favorites from the collection and the shade I wore for the last four days. The formula was great and opacity was achieved in two coats.

I’m really impressed with the first two cremes from this collection! While the colors aren’t the most unique, the formula makes them stand out over several mainstream options. KBShimmer has an amazing eye for glitter combinations and this collection does not disappoint. The spring 2014 collection will go on sale 3.14.14. The glitters are $8.75 each and the cremes are $7.50 each. Be sure to keep up with them on facebook, instagram, and twitter.
