Happy New Year’s Eve dolls! Hasn’t 2013 flown by?!? I’m excited at the prospect of a new year, new beginnings, and new challenges. Do you have any plans for this evening? I’m pretty sure hubby and I will stay in and have a quiet celebration. He proposed on NYE, so it’s always a special day for us.
Today’s Twinsie Tuesday theme closes out with “Something New” and I’m showing the last polish that arrived at my home in 2013. I recently participated in a secret holiday exchange and my girl Tiffany of Tiffany’s Tasteful Talons surprised me with a England Briar Rose. Briar Rose is described as a cranberry/scarlet base hue bearing a slight milky sheen and a gently ladylike prismatic demeanor, evidence of a still-beating heart. I absolutely adore the inspiration Adina uses to create new shades and Briar Rose did not disappoint. The formula was amazing, as with most a Englands I’ve tried. It was almost a one coater, but two were used for photography purposes. The scattered holo isn’t super strong, but that’s perfectly fine in my book.
Briar Rose is such a stunning cranberry shade and I’m glad to add this one to my a England stash. I decided to make this my NYE mani by adding a little bling. The colors in KBShimmer Toast-ess with the Mostest seemed as if they would compliment Briar Rose nicely. I ended up doing a cuticle gradient.
While I do love these two shades together, Toast-ess with the Mostest is a bit chunky for a cuticle gradient. On the other hand, it is NYE, so this mani definitely brings the bling!
