Hey dolls! More spring collections are being released and I’m quite happy about it, as those tend to be my favorites. Today I have photos of the Serum No. 5 SS14 Part One collection. This set features 11 shades of varying finishes including cremes that glow in the dark (gitd), glitters, and crellies. After swatching this collection, I realized that I should invest in a black light to adequately capture gitd polishes. I haven’t had much practice with that finish, so check out Lacquerloon on instagram for her fabulous gitd swatches of this collection. The formula for each of the gitd cremes was the same; they applied easily, built up nicely, and dried to a slightly gritty finish. Top coat was used in each photo.
Serum No. 5 Awesome Blossom is a pastel pink creme that glows violet in the dark. Three coats were used for opacity.
Serum No. 5 Blue Blazes is a pastel blue creme that glows blue. Three coats were used for opacity.
Serum No. 5 Glowin’ Of Eden is a pastel green creme that glows green. The formula was more sheer than the other cremes in the collection, but was still opaque in three coats.
Serum No. 5 Laven-Daringly Bright is a pastel purple creme that has a purple/blue glow. Three coats were used for opacity.
Serum No. 5 Lights Out is a black creme filled with subtle silver shimmer that glows blue. I had difficulties getting Lights Out to glow. I charged it for a minute and the glow faded rather quickly.
Serum No. 5 Pure Glow Getter is a stark white creme that glows white. The formula was thicker and more pigmented than the other cremes in this collection. It was opaque in two coats.
Serum No. 5 G.I. Miss You is a camouflage-themed glitter in a clear base that glows green. The base was thick and jam packed with glitter. It applied relatively easily in one coat over Pure Glow Getter.
Serum No. 5 Silver Lining is a gray creme filled with darker gray shimmer that glows white. It was also thicker and more pigmented than the other cremes. Silver Lining was opaque in two coats. This was one of my favorites from the collection.
Serum No. 5 Some Bunny Loves You is a pastel glitter topper filled with various sizes and shapes. The formula was great and the glitter was the perfect density. One coat was used over Silver Lining.
Serum No. 5 Blushed and Flushed is a soft, pale pink crelly filled with various sized silver and pink glitter and shimmer. The formula was thick, but in a good way. It applied very easily, self-leveled nicely, and was opaque in two coats. I would recommend waiting a few minutes in between coats to prevent dragging.
Serum No. 5 Lilac It? I Love It is a lilac crelly filled with purple and silver glitter and shimmer. The formula was sheer, but built up nicely in three coats and applied very easily.
Whew! This is my first time seeing pastel gitd shades and I’m quite impressed! I also like the soft crelly glitters in this collection. They are a great way to wear the pastels of spring with a little bit of umph. The Serum No. 5 SS14 Part One collection will be available for pre-order on Friday, March 28, 2014 at 12pm PDT until Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 10a PDT. Each shade will be $1 off during this time and are expected to ship on or before April 11, 2014. Be sure to keep up with Serum No. 5 on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to learn more about new releases and other info.
