Hey dolls! The Twinsies are back from a holiday hiatus with our first theme of the year, the pond mani. While I love a good jelly polish, I’m not really a fan of this technique. I much prefer the regular glitter jelly sandwich. Alas, I decided to try it out.
The only jelly polish in my untrieds was China Glaze Ride the Waves, a deep blue. The formula was easy to apply and built up without dragging. I started with two coats of Ride the Waves. Next, I created a dotticure using Zoya Sailor and Zoya Blu. Finally, another coat of Ride the Waves was applied along with top coat.
Eh, I’m not crazy about this look. I think it may be the jelly polish I chose. The VNL was not nearly as visible in person as in the photo above. I would’ve had to do a few more coats for it to look the way it does in the bottle and that was just not the vision when I did this look last night before bed. Welp, at least I gave it a try. What are your thoughts on the pond mani technique?
While several Twinsies are taking a bit of a hiatus, I’d like to welcome several new Twinsies to the group: Amanda of Fashion Footing, Beckie of Polished by Beckie, and Savannah of Addicted to Polish. Be sure to check out their blogs using the links below! I’m looking forward to getting to know all of these ladies better.
