Hey dolls! I had so many ideas for this prompt, but I didn’t get around to doing my nails until yesterday after work. The pollen has been ridiculous over the last week, which left me with a sinus infection on Thursday. Ugh! That was my first time experiencing such horrible sinus pressure. I literally felt like I walked into a wall and didn’t remember it. The last thing I wanted to do over the last few days was smell polish. Thankfully, I’m feeling much better now!
In the midst of trying to catch up on swatching, I came across She’ Nail Polish Alter Ego, a silver, metallic foil that has specks of blue (full review to come). I’ve done several matte and glossy looks using cremes, so this time I wanted to use a polish with shimmer (see looks here and here). After Alter Ego was applied, I added two coats of Butter London Matte Finish Top Coat. Once Alter Ego was completely dry, I taped off a diagonal portion of the nail and added She’ Nail Polish Midnight, a glossy black. To tie the look together, I added Serum No. 5 black and white splatter studs.
This look was simple, but chic. The matte top coat really allowed the depth of Alter Ego to come through. She’ Nail polishes are available here for $6. I also really love these studs from Serum No. 5, which are available here. It allows me to have the splatter look on my nails without the mess. They come in a variety of colors and one bag of about 100-120 studs is $3. Be sure to check out the looks the other Twinsies came up with below!
