Happy Independence Day to all of my US dolls! I hope that you all have a fun, but safe holiday weekend. Today I have photos for you of the latest collection from Nostalgic Nail Lacquer. This was my first experience with the brand and I must say I was impressed. The Punky Power collection consists of five fun glitters and was inspired by the awesome 80s show Punky Brewster.
Punky Power is a glitter top coat that is filled with rainbow matte glitter in stars, hearts, hexes, bars, circles, and squares. This polish is jam packed with glitter! So much so, I ended up dabbing one coat on for the most part. Punky Power is shown over Cult Nails Nakizzle’s Shizzle.
Warnimont is a white creme-jelly hybrid base that is filled with red, blue, and yellow hex glitters. The formula was a little thick and was also jam packed with glitter. The base built up nicely and three coats were used for opacity.
Margaux is a neon purple jelly that is filled with matte white, pink, and black glitter. The formula was really great on this one. I would recommend leaving the bottle upside down for a bit before applying to help get the larger glitters out more easily. Three coats of Margaux were used for opacity and it would be best to wait a few minutes in between coats to avoid dragging.
Cherie is a neon pink jelly that is filled with matte black and teal star, hex, and square glitter. This is another one that I would recommend leaving upside down before applying. The formula built up very nicely, but this one proved the most difficult when it came to getting the glitters out. I actually like the way Cherie looked with minimal glitter though. Three coats were used for opacity.
Wonder Dog is a neon orange jelly that is filled with large black circle glitter and yellow and gray hex glitter. This is such a unique mix of glitters. I only wish the black glitter was a little smaller, but I know lots of people like the large circles. The formula was great and three coats were used for opacity.
Overall, I think this collection definitely captures the essence of Punky Brewster. My favorites are Warnimont, Cherie, and Margaux. The Punky Power collection is now available for purchase, along with many other Nostalgic Nail Lacquers, for $9.75 each. Also be sure to keep up with Nostalgic on Facebook for sneak peeks and updates!
