Hello everyone!! My name is Tiffany and I am a VERY NEW blogger!!! My new blog is called Polished to Precision and was just launched yesterday! I am so excited and I hope that some of you will take a look!
Since many of you don’t know me at all, I would like to tell you a little about myself. I am a married, mother of three, and full-time graduate student. Lakeisha and I actually graduated from the same University, on the same exact day, and at the very same time!! Neither of us knew one another at that time, but a passion for nails and all things pretty brought us together. I began to stalk follow her blog, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and we soon became friends. Most importantly, Lakeisha was an integral aspect of support and it was her EXPERT recommendation that allowed my husband and I to get obtain much needed treatment and care for our daughter. For these things, I will be forever grateful. OK…so for those of you who have read my rambling and stuck around, let’s move on to why I am here.
Today I am sharing with you a manicure I created, especially for this post. I recently starting venturing into nail art and this was my first time trying this design and I really hope you like it. I started with two coats of OPI Vant to Bite My Neck?, which is an extremely rich purple cream. This color was almost opaque in one coat, but two were used to achieve a balanced look. The gloss is VERY apparent, even without topcoat. The accent finger is started with a base of Jade Uau! and it only required one coat to reach the desired opacity. I then applied one coat fast drying topcoat to my middle and ring fingers. As they dried, two coats of Freak Show Polish Gypsy was applied to my pinky and index fingers. This was my first experience with this particular indie brand and I am quite pleased. Gypsy is a purple glitter bomb that has multiple purple and gold tones of metallic and satin glitter. It’s a gorgeous combo, especially since I LOVE all things purple! The glitter dispersed evenly and the formula was great. I added one layer of topcoat to each of these nails.
Next, I began to work on the accent nails. The middle finger design started with the base of OPI Vant to Bite My Neck? and I used a dotting tool to add dots using Jade Uau! (gold holo) and Zoya Malia. Both of these colors capture the glitter mix of Gypsy very well.
To complete the ring finger accent, I used painter’s tape and chevron shaped craft scissors. Once the tape was cut, I decided to change the chevron from the usual horizontal positioning, to a more diagonal position. After placing the two pieces of tape on my nails, I painted 2 coats of OPI Vant to Bite My Neck? and immediately removed them. I allowed it to dry for a minute and then added topcoat.
