Hey dolls, I’m so glad to show you the last two colors from the Barielle Summer 2011 Karma Collection. Last month, I posted 4 of the colors for you HERE. The two remaining colors are Positive ZEN-ergy and Buddha-ful. Positive ZEN-ergy is described as a warm mossy green with silver shimmer. This shade looks awesome on the nail. Its more on the muted side, but the silver shimmer helps it work well for the summertime. I think this color will be complimentary on a lot of skin tones. The formula was what I have come to expect from Barielle, straight awesomeness. I used 2 easy coats for full opacity.
Up next is Buddha-ful. Its described as a beige with soft baby pink, blue, and light gray foil. When I first looked at this shade online, I didn’t know that it was really a layering polish. The base is somewhat thick and milky and it shows on the nail with iridescent green and blue flakies. I stopped at 3 coats with this shade and there was still some VNL (visible nail line). It could probably be built up to full opacity with a few more coats if you wanted to wear this alone, but 3 is my max with any polish. Buddha-ful did dry relatively quickly though. Here it is alone…
Eh…I’m not a fan of this alone. I then decided to layer it on top of Positive ZEN-ergy to see if I would like it more as accents on the ring finger and thumb.
This is much better! I’m not generally a fan of flakies, but I like the way this looks together. I think with some careful planning, you could create some really good combos using Buddha-ful as a layering polish. Overall, I’m really a fan of this collection. I think the names are cute and the colors chosen are cohesive. My top picks are Gotta Have Fate, Do Unto Others, and Soul-er Powered. Because the folks over at Barielle are so awesome, I have an extra bottle of Soul-er Powered to give away to one lucky person who comments on this post. All you need to do is tell me your favorite shade from this collection and you must be a public follower. You have until Sunday, July 31 at midnight to leave your comments and then a random winner will be chosen. Happy polishing dolls!
