Hey dolls! I finally have photos of the Barielle Velvets collection for you today. When this collection arrived some time ago, one of the bottles had exploded all over the others. I left them in the box, without cleaning the bottles that could be saved, then completely forgot about them. The Velvets collection is Barielle’s softer release for spring 2014 (see Barielle Vibrants collection here).
Barielle A Little Exotic is described as a muted rusty pink. The formula was great and applied like a typical Barielle creme-jelly hybrid. It self-leveled nicely and was opaque in two coats.
Barielle Uptown Girl is described as a soft beige. The formula was more sheer than the others, but built up well in three coats. Uptown Girl also self-leveled nicely.
Barielle Cream N Sugar is described as a sheer soft beige. The formula was extremely sheer and thin. It wasn’t runny and didn’t drag as additional coats were added. I can only see Cream N Sugar being used for french tips or for those who like a barely there look. I gave up at four coats.
Barielle My Tan Blazer is described as a tan camel color. The formula applied nicely, but it didn’t self-level like the others in the collection. Therefore, top coat was applied. Two coats were used for opacity.
Barielle My Week Away is described as a dusty pink. This shade is filled with green shimmer making it the most unique polish of the collection. The formula was thin, but not runny. Two coats were used for opacity.
Barielle Sexy Mood is described as a muted magenta. It had a great creme-jelly hybrid formula and was opaque in two coats.
Overall, this is a good collection for those who like more subtle shades. The standout for me is definitely My Week Away. The Barielle Velvets collection is currently available here for $8 each.
