Twinsie Tuesday ~ Marching Orders Take 2

Press Sample Purchased by Me

Hey dolls! The Twinsie Tuesday theme for today was to take orders from a fellow Twinsie on the type of manicure to create. ChiChi from I’m Just Me…ChiChi gave me the task of creating a fruit mani. At first, I decided that I didn’t want to be super literal for this look. I started thinking of fruit inspired things and I remembered the fruit stripes gum from back in the day. I thought it would be simple to do a bright skittle mani and then stamp on zebra print to look like the gum. Well, my nails are way too long for the stamping plates that I have and I’m not skilled enough to stamp on the same image twice.

I then thought about the fruit I had in the kitchen. Watermelon! I figured a watermelon accent would be easy enough. I started with a base of Barielle Straight A Coral (review forthcoming), which strongly resembles watermelon. I then used China Glaze Holly-Day and Barielle Green Apple Chew for the rind. The seeds were created using Sally Hansen Extreme Wear Black Out. Here’s the final look:

Did I ever say how much I suck at freehanding nail art?!? I’m so not a fan of this. The rind is way too long and I got a little seed happy. Oh well, I had already swatched a bunch of polishes when I did this and I was not about to re-do it. I will take this as a learning experience and strike through this marching order as a fail. ChiChi, I’ll go for the not so literal attempt next time. 😉
