Twinsie Tuesday ~ Most Hated Trend

Hey dolls! Today’s theme for Twinsie Tuesday was most hated nail trend. There are a lot of trends I can’t get down with: caviar nails, duck nails, fuzzy nails, extra bar glitter, feather glitter, shaped glitter, and super huge glitter. The list could go on and on. I actually don’t own items for any of these trends.

Therefore, I’m flipping this theme and showing you a photo of one of my most loved trends: thermal polish. I have been in love with thermal polish since I first reviewed one from Pretty & Polished last year. It’s so cool to watch them change right in front of your eyes. Today I’m wearing a Russian thermal polish that was gifted to me by one of my closest polish buddies, Tam. Dance Legend Termo Trios are supposed to change between not two, but three colors! Termo Trio No. 2 applies as a light gray base with purple undertones. The formula was very thick, so I would recommend not having too much on the brush as you apply coats to keep it from looking uneven. Two coats were used for opacity.

Typically with thermal polishes, I can just run my hand under cold or hot water from the faucet to see a change. That didn’t work with Termo Trio No. 2. I had to stick my hand in a cup of ice cold water for the polish to change. This is what it looks like when just the tips are dipped in the water and as it reverts back to being warm.

When completely submerged in ice water, Termo Trio No. 2 takes on a violet shade.

Unfortunately, I was not able to see the third shade at all, which was supposed to be pink. That of course was a little disappointing. Unlike a lot of other thermals, usually the free edge portion of the nail is a different color, but that was not the case. Termo Trio No. 2 looked like the first picture for the entire day. I did learn that Google+ is good for something throughout this process. When you upload several pictures taken consecutively at a fast pace, it creates a gif automatically. Check it out below!
