Hey dolls! Today I have photos for you of the Serum No.5 SS14 Part Two collection (see Part One here). This half of the collection features 12 shades that include glow in the dark cremes, glitters, and a holo. One to two coats of Serum No.5 A Need For Speed top coat was used in each photo below due to the neon/glow in the dark pigments and glitters creating a slightly gritty finish.
Serum No.5 Flashing Lights is a shimmery silver top coat that is unlike anything else I’ve ever seen before. When one coat is applied over the naked nail without top coat, this is what it looks like.
Nothing overly special right? You just get to see my stained nails. When you take a flash photo in the dark, Flashing Lights transforms into something quite amazing.
Pure craziness! I’ve never seen anything like this. It doesn’t glow in the dark but the glitter comes out to play when using the flash. Just in case you were interested, I also swatched Flashing Lights over a white, blue, plum, and black creme. The formula applies nicely and the glitter is dense, dispersing easily in one coat.
Serum No.5 I Gleam In Pink is a neon pink glow in the dark creme. It was sheer on the first coat, but built up nicely in three coats. This color is insanely bright and I love it. I Gleam In Pink had one of the strongest glows in this collection.
Serum No.5 Indi-Glo is a neon blue glow in the dark creme. The formula was one of the most pigmented cremes in this collection and was opaque in two coats. It applied nicely and did not stain my nails.
Serum No.5 Infrared is a neon red-leaning coral glow in the dark creme. This is another ridiculously bright shade. The formula was much thicker than the others in this collection and it applied very easily in two coats. I did have difficulties getting Infrared to glow, so Serum No.5 is in the process of working out that kink.
Serum No.5 Isle Live is a pale yellow base filled with red, yellow, green, and blue glitters in various shapes and sizes. The formula was sheer, but built up nicely in three coats. The glitter also dispersed very easily across the nail. I completely forgot to get a glow in the dark photo of Isle Live. I’ll blame it on the allergy/cough/cold issues I’ve been having all week.
Serum No.5 Just Add Water is a blue jelly base filled with various shaped and sized blue, green, gold, and white glitter. Three coats were used for opacity and I didn’t have any issues with the base dragging as coats were added.
Serum No.5 Krypton-Brite is a neon green glow in the dark creme. The formula applied nicely in two coats. The visible nail line you see in the photos, was not apparent at all in real life.
Serum No.5 Off Tropic is an old gold scattered holo. The formula was on the sheer side, but not at all runny. It was almost opaque at two coats, but I had to use three on a few nails.
Serum No.5 Orange You Sunny is a neon tangerine-ish orange glow in the dark creme. The formula was sheer, but built up nicely in three coats. Yet another crazy bright shade.
Serum No.5 Sand-Tastic is a mainly gold glitter top coat that is speckled with glitter in all of the colors of the rainbow. The formula was great and the glitter was very dense. One coat was used over Indi-Glo.
Serum No.5 Solar Power is a neon yellow glow in the dark creme. The formula was sheer, but built up nicely in three coats. I love that this shade is neon, but does not fall into the highlighter yellow category. I was playing around with different camera settings when I got the amazing glow shot below. Now if I can only remember what setting that was (hence why it looks different from the others).
Serum No.5 Ultra Violet is a neon purple glow in the dark creme that has sparse blue microglitter in it. The formula was similar to the others; sheer, but built up nicely in three coats.
