Happy Monday and happy New Year’s Eve dolls! I figured out a way to combine the winners of the last poll in a festive way to bring the new year in. There was a tie between Deborah Lippmann Sweet Dreams and Ray of Light, which is not a bad thing since they are both gorgeous jellies filled with flakies. I started with a base of Sweet Dreams, a pink jelly filled with gold to orange flakies. The formula was relatively thick, but I suppose that is because it is jam packed with flakies. I used two coats.
I really wanted to incorporate studs for my NYE mani, but I just couldn’t decide what I wanted to do. Therefore, I fell back on my trustworthy striping tape. I assembled several pieces of tape on the nail to resemble a shooting firework, then covered it with a thick layer of Ray of Light, a navy base filled with the same gold to orange flakies. Ray of Light was just as thick as Sweet Dreams, but not problematic. Here is the final look!
The last two shade pictures really give you a good idea of just how spectacular the flakies are in both polishes. I’m pleased with this simple double accent nail. Hubby and I are going to dinner with some friends and then to a local spot to bring in the new year. I have several options in mind for my outfit, but I need to figure it out. Hopefully I’ll get some good pictures. Everyone please be safe tonight and I wish you all a happy, blessed, and prosperous 2013! Until next year dolls!
