Mentality Restock Madness

Hey dolls! Over the next month or so, I’ll have photos for you of the latest Mentality releases. You may remember me posting this photo after I received a box of 44 Mentality polishes. Yes, you read that correctly; 44 polishes at one time. The first set that I’ve swatched is the Restock Madness collection. If you’ve ever purchased from popular indie polish brands, you will understand the names and the fun that is being poked at how crazy we can get when our favorites are restocked. This collection consists of seven glitters that are suspended in jelly bases. The formula was the same on each polish; the glitter is dense and the jelly base becomes opaque quite easily. Three coats were used for each polish, except for one. All of the glitters dry to a textured finish, so they are shown with top coat.

Cart Jacked is described as hot pink, yellow, and silver microglitter, with a large purple glitter accent in a fuchsia jelly with gold highlights. This is one of my favorites from this collection. The mix of glitters is so unique! Don’t you just want to scream when you have the polish you want in your cart and once you click the checkout button only to realize you’ve been cart jacked?!? Aaahhhh!

Impulse Buy is described as purple, orange, and sliver microglitter, with a large aqua glitter accent in a purple jelly with orange highlights. I really like the addition of the aqua glitter. I’m sure all of us have had impulse buy moments where we throw caution to the wind and purchase everything in sight! Luckily, now that I have so many polishes, I’ve curbed those impulses.

Limited Edition is described as cherry red, green, and silver microglitter, with a large gun metal glitter accent in a red jelly with green highlights. This one is my favorite! Limited edition; those are words that immediately make people feel like they NEED the product that’s being released. We rationalize those purchases by saying to ourselves that we will never be able to try this product if we don’t act quickly (even though a dupe will probably appear in a few weeks).

Out of Stock is described as light green, purple, and silver microglitter, with a large yellow glitter accent in a green jelly with purple highlights. Out of stock; three words that could irk anyone’s nerves. You finally find the one polish that fulfills all of your polish dreams to go to the site and it’s out of stock! Aaaahhhh!

Oversold is described as light blue, red, and silver microglitter, with a large green glitter accent in a blue jelly base with red highlights. I only used two coats here, but I should’ve used three for photo purposes. When you get the message that a product has been oversold, you can only hope a new batch will appear mysteriously so you can get the polishes you need to complete your polish life.

Understocked is described as turquoise, rose, and silver microglitter, with a large brown glitter accent in an aqua jelly with copper highlights. You can never go wrong with pink, blue, and brown in my opinion. Understocked; there’s never enough of a great polish to go around.

Server Crash is yellow, blue, and silver microglitter, with a large cherry red glitter accent in a yellow jelly with blue highlights. This is the only one that I think I would prefer layered. In real life, the yellow base almost looked more like my nails were badly stained. Server crash; words no polish lover wants to hear. Let me set the scene for you. Your favorite brand has announced their restock time for a new collection. You set an alarm on your phone to ensure that you won’t miss out. Ten minutes before, you check the brand’s facebook page to make sure there are no hiccups and all is set. You then go to the website to log in and make sure all of your billing information is listed. Five minutes decreases to three and that decreases to one. Finally, the time has arrived. You immediately begin to hit refresh waiting for the new items to appear. Hundreds, maybe thousands of other people are doing the exact thing. Two minutes later, you go back to the brand’s facebook page only to learn that the server has crashed! Aaaahhhhh!!!!

I absolutely love the theme of this collection! As a fan of indie brands, I’ve experienced all of these at some point. Luckily, I feel like an oldie when it comes to the restock game. At this point, I seldom go for polishes that invoke restock madness. My stash has expanded so much that I feel like Sweet Brown – aint nobody got time for that. I want to be able to casually shop and purchase on my own accord. Gosh, I sound so old! Welp. Please take no offense to the sarcasm and fun I poked above because we’ve all been there. The good news is that you won’t have any of these issues with Mentality. All polishes are stocked at all times. The Restock Madness collection can be purchased here for $8 each (shipping included) or $50 for the entire set.
