Hey dolls! It has been some kind of a roller coaster weekend with the RBL blogger contest taking place. I’ll have a full post on that tomorrow, so today’s post is all about the Mentality Grayscale Mattes collection. I keep saying how cool these ombre collections are and the Grayscale Mattes are no different. The formula was the same on each polish except Sunny, which I’ll describe separately. The others applied easily, were very pigmented, and were opaque in two coats. These mattes feature gold glass flecks, which I love! It makes them a more unique collection as mattes typically contain silver shimmer. Let’s get to the polishes.
Mentality Sunny, the lightest shade of the collection, is described as a bright white matte nail polish with gold accent flecks. This is the only shade in the collection that had a difficult formula. It was much thicker than the other polishes. Sunny was streaky on the first two coats, then leveled out on the third. The gold flecks tend to disappear in the base.
Mentality Misty is described as a silver-grey matte nail polish with gold accent flecks. I tend not to like silvery polishes on my skintone, but Misty is very wearable.
Mentality Foggy is described as a medium grey matte nail polish with gold accent flecks. This one is my favorite from the collection!
Mentality Cloudy is described as a medium dark grey matte nail polish with gold accent flecks. Cloudy looks like it has a textured finish, but it dries smoothly.
Mentality Overcast is described as a dark charcoal grey matte nail polish with gold accent flecks. There is something about the gold that gives these polishes so much depth and I’m loving it!
This collection reminds me of mixed metal jewelry. A lot of people don’t like to mix silver and gold, but I think it works! The polishes in this collection definitely show that these shades can be combined in a very chic way.
