Hey dolls, I’m so excited to get back into my regular groove of blogging again! I have some awesome news for you all. As you can tell by the title of this post, I successfully defended my dissertation yesterday and I’m officially Dr. Refined & Polished!!!!! Woohooo!!!!! Words cannot describe how excited I was yesterday! I’m so happy to be closing this chapter of my education. Now the job search is on, but I’m taking a few mental days off before getting into that.

I’d like to thank all of the lovely ladies who guest posted over the last few weeks. You can see all of them through this link. I really appreciate the way you all kept my readers entertained with your awesome marbles, jelly sandwiches, stamping, gradients, stripes, holos, layering, and tape manis! My polish friends are so talented and I hope that you all found a couple of new blogs to follow in the process.

Currently, I’m wearing Rescue Beauty Lounge Halcyon. I chose this polish for my defense because I wanted something gorgeous, but subtle…something that wouldn’t be distracting throughout my presentation. Halcyon is a sage green that is filled with the softest pink shimmer. The formula was flawless and applied effortlessly. I used two coats in the pictures below. I wore it for three days before  taking these pictures, so there is some tip wear.

I have been looking for a green polish with pink shimmer for the longest and I’m so glad I’ve found it in Halcyon! I was secretly hoping that I wouldn’t like Halcyon so I wouldn’t be tempted to buy more of these polishes. RBLs are on the high end when it comes to price and would eat up most of my polish budget, so they can only be purchased when I want to reward myself.
