Hey dolls! A couple of weeks ago I was asked by the lovely folks over at Barielle to create a tutorial for the original matte and glossy polka dot look seen here. I don’t typically create tutorials, but I’m sure this is easy enough for all of you to follow.
First, you will need to polish your nails the color of your choosing. I used Barielle Cosmic Kiss for this tutorial.
Next, apply several coats of Barielle Matte-inee. I used three coats to get the desired matte look.
Finally, put a small amount of clear top coat onto aluminum foil (or any other surface that it won’t seep through). Using a dotting tool, create dots on each nail in a pattern. I chose the random approach this time. If you don’t have dotting tools, you can also using a toothpick, bobby pin, pushpin, or any other small item that has a round end. Be sure to use a high gloss top coat to ensure you have a good contrast between the matte base and the dots.
This look is super easy to create and I’m sure I’ll do other types of matte and glossy looks. I foresee stripes and animal print manis in the future. Will you give this type of look a try? Barielle polishes and nail care products can be purchased here.
